The collection designed by Alfonso Femia will compete in the next edition of Compasso d’Oro Award International Edition.

A projecting frame defines the Entre Deux group of swing doors, designed by Alfonso Femia for Albed. The jamb is indeed designed as an element which projects itself in the space, on either one or both sides: it becomes an instrument dedicated to interior architecture, a volume through which it is possible to compose spaces, separating them and at the same time promoting their continuity. The jamb, with its tapered section, can be made of 100% recyclable aluminium in six different finishes from the catalogue, or in other materials, such as wood or stone, it can be customized in size and it can be made in height up to the ceiling (with a maximum of 300 cm), with the possibility of integrating a LED source to mark the passage area through the light.

Even the door panel is completely customizable: it can be opened at 180º, it can be placed in the middle or in correspondence with one of the protruding frames, and it is available in a wide range of finishes that include transparent, colorful, glossy or sainted back-lacquered glass, reflective glass, which is enhanced by the inclusion of material textures, or even in natural wood, glossy or matte lacquered, in RAL tonalities.

The depth marked by the frame indicates a real innovation in the conception of the door element, which offers itself as a sculptural, technical and aesthetic object, characterized by an elegant formal minimalism. These are the characteristics and details that have determined the inclusion of Entre-Deux in ADI Design Index 2022 and therefore the opportunity to compete in the next edition of Compasso d’Oro.
